Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is white or off-white fibrous and almost insoluble in absolute ethanol, ether, and acetone. It is a non-ionic neovitamin ether prepared through a series of chemical processes and can be dissolved in water. It itself has excellent wettability, dispersibility, adhesion, thickening, emulsifying, water retention and film forming properties, as well as impermeability to grease. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is mainly used in dry powder building materials such as architectural coating glue and thermal insulation mortar. It has good water retention effect, easy construction, good brightness and good bonding strength.
Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose dissolution method:
1. All models can be added to the material by dry mixing method;
2. When it needs to be added directly to the normal temperature aqueous solution, cold water dispersion type can be used;
3. Ordinary models are stirred and dispersed with hot water first, and then cold water is added to stir and cool to dissolve;
4. If agglomeration or wrapping occurs during dissolution, it is because of insufficient stirring or the ordinary model is directly added to cold water, and it should be stirred quickly at this time.
5. If bubbles are generated during dissolution, you can leave it for 2-12 hours (the specific time is determined by the consistency of the solution) or vacuum, pressurization, etc.or you can add an appropriate amount of defoamer.
