Product Description

Hydroxyethyl cellulose HEC is a white or light yellow powder, tasteless, non-toxic, easily soluble in water, but insoluble in general organic solvents. The PH value of HEC has a small change in viscosity in the range of 2-12, but the viscosity drops beyond this range. It has the properties of thickening, bonding, emulsifying, dispersing, retaining water and protecting colloid. Solutions with different viscosity ranges can be prepared. It is unstable under normal temperature and pressure, avoiding humidity, heat, and high temperature. It has exceptionally good salt solubility to dielectrics. Its aqueous solution is allowed to contain high concentrations of salts and remains stable.

Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) is nonionic water-soluble cellulose ether, used as thickener, protective colloid, water retention agent and rheology modifier in different applications like water-based paints, building materials, oil field chemicals and personal care products.
