Audited Supplier Redispersible polymer powder is a vinyl acetate and ethylene based co-polymer which is produced by spray drying technology used mainly as polymer binder in various contruction applications like cement based wall putty, cement mortars, cement based tile adhesives. Higher Tg based redispersible powders have lower ethylene polymer content and higher vinyl acetate polymer content which leads to hard film and lower Tg based redispersible powders have higher ethylene polymer content and lower vinyl acetate polymer content which results in flexible films adding more workability to cement based formulations.
Applications for VAE-RDPs include the formulation of construction materials such as tile adhesives, grouts, finishing plasters, troweling compounds, thin set mortars, and sealing slurries.. The amount of VAE-RDPs added to cements and plaster is about 2-10 percent, depending on the improvement of strength, impact resistance, adhesion, and water resistance required of the compound.
Redispersible polymer powders are free flowing white powders obtained by spray drying macromolecular copolymer dispersions under carefully defined conditions. They are widely used to improve cohesion, adhesion, flexibility and workability in constructions especially in dry mixtures.
