Product Description
Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) is white or light yellow, odorless, non-toxic fibrous or powdery solid, soaked in raw cotton linters or refined pulp in 30% liquid alkali, and taken out after half an hour. Press until the ratio of alkaline water reaches 1: 2.8, and crush it. Then prepared by etherification reaction, it belongs to non-ionic soluble cellulose ethers.
Used in water latex paint:
As a protective colloid, HEC can be used for vinyl acetate emulsion polymerization to improve the stability of the polymerization system in a wide range of PH values. In the manufacture of finished products, additives such as pigments and fillers are used to evenly disperse, stabilize and provide a thickening effect. It can also be used as a dispersant for suspending polymers. Used in latex paint can significantly improve the thickening and improve the leveling performance.
