Applications

In building materials, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose can act as dispersing agents, thickeners and binders, and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose is mainly used in the molding of the cement mortar and plaster products. It is used in the cement mortar to increase its adhesion, reduce flocculation, improve the viscosity, shrinkage, and water retention, reduce the water loss of concrete surface, enhance the strength, prevent the occurrence of cracks and weathering effects of water-soluble salts.

 

Coating industry
1.Used as a thickener, dispersant and stabilizer in the coatings industry. Good compatibility with water or organic solvents.
2.Used as paint stripper, dispersion coating, wall coating, polymerization aid.

 

Application:
The different grades are chemically and physically optimized for adjusting and controlling specific properties of dry mortars and building products (cement and gypsum based). They are available in different molecular weights, particle sizes and modifications.

 

 

Product properties
1. Water Retention: The water retention will be enhanced, which is helpful with such problems as cement or gypsum construction material drying too fast and poor hardening or cracking due to insufficient  hydration.
2. Operationality: It can enhance the plasticity of mortar and improve the coating efficiency in construction  projects.
3. Adhesivity: It can make mortar attach to base material better since the plasticity of mortar is enhanced.
4. Slip Resistance: It can prevent slipping problem between mortar and the base material in construction project as a result of its thickening effect.
